The South African National Youth Orchestra Foundation is a non-profit organisation that aims to offer world-class music education from its Development Initiatives to the icon of youth classical music in South Africa — the Sasol South African Youth Orchestra.
Our first orchestra course was held in 1964 and our longstanding commitment to young musicians has made the SA National Youth Orchestra Foundation one of South Africa's most successful music institutions. Its mission is to equip young people with the skills to perform in professional symphony orchestras or as soloists or conductors.
The International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) is an important international network of members from around fifty countries, devoted to the promotion and presentation of contemporary music — the music of our time. Each year, ISCM presents the World Music Days Festival, hosted by one of ISCM's members, which provides a feast of contemporary music across a broad range of contemporary practice.
The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) was established in 1961 with the objective to protect the intellectual property of composers and authors, as well as to ensure that composers' and authors' talents are adequately credited both locally and internationally for music usage. The organisation is the primary representative of music performing rights in Southern Africa.
The Gaudeamus Foundation organizes and promotes contemporary musical activities and concerts both in the Netherlands and abroad. Gaudeamus supports the career development of young composers and musicians through its library facilities, contacts with international organizations, and its own activities.
The Composers Association of South Africa (CASA) is run by composers, for composers. We offer information, advice and assistance in all composer-related matters. We aim to promote and protect the rights of our members and will encourage interaction and collaboration between composers and all other players in the music industry.

The Documentation Centre for Music (DOMUS) aims to promote music in South Africa and Africa by collecting, preserving, ordering and cataloguing the music and documentary collections of composers, performing artists, musicologists and music institutions. As an archive with strong connections to music research, DOMUS aims, through strategic projects of research, publication, performance and recordings, to maintain the expressive cultures represented in these collections as an important part of a broad South African heritage. As host for RILM South Africa (see below), DOMUS has been involved in data capturing for RILM since 2007.
Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM), established in 1964, is today an extensive bibliography of music literature (with more than 500 000 records in 215 languages and from 151 countries). RILM represents a vast network of music scholarship, which encourages knowledge dissemination and multidisciplinary communication in the international scholarly community. Most tertiary institutions subscribe to RILM annually.
