Dear Subscriber
Welcome to our June Newsletter. In this issue, we have a reminder of submissions for this year’s Indaba; a reminder of the call for articles; premières in South Africa; a Call for Scores; a notification of a festival as well as the usual reminders for opportunities. As always, do let me know of any newsworthy items, for the next issue, that would help you to publicise your events in or after August. Likewise, if you hear of any composers’ or performers’ opportunities, just send an email to me at [email protected]. Call for Submissions Reminder - NMSA Indaba 2017 Just to remind you of the Call for Submissions for which there is a deadline of 17 July. Note that, in addition to music compositions to be performed, submissions include collaborations; workshops; masterclasses; presentations, etc. Please note the theme of the call, although the team welcomes submissions outside the scope of this theme. The team look forward to receiving your submissions. Reminder of Call for Articles on Music Matete Mahlare is calling for articles to be published in an on-line magazine, called ‘Lyrics’, which she is planning to promote later this year. The magazine is planned to be launched as a website as well as in hard-copy. Articles from musicologists or about musicology are welcome, in addition to more general articles about anything musical and any genre reflecting issues in South Africa or any other part of the world. If you have an idea for an article, please contact Matete on [email protected] or telephone her on 072-224 3450. Please note the email has now changed since my last publication. Premières
