Welcome to our September Newsletter. In this issue, we have more news of our Indaba; a new video post; a call for scores; a reminder of the upcoming ISCM World New Music Days as well as the usual reminder of opportunities. NewMusicSA Indaba 2017 This year’s Indaba will be held in Pretoria from 10 to 12 November. Please download the poster for the events to be held during these days. Updates to this schedule will be posted on our website, so please check this out throughout October. Although reduced in scale, this Indaba event is going to be exciting, so we encourage you to attend. It is our most important event of the year! Video from Unyazi 2014 Video highlights from our Unyazi 2014 Electronic Music Festival in WITS University, Johannesburg, can now be viewed on YouTube. Call for Scores ‘Risuonanze 2018’ Held by Associazione Culturale TKE, this Call is open to composers of any nationality and age. You are welcome to download the full information, noting the deadline is March 19 2018. ISCM World New Music Days This is a reminder that the ISCM WNMD 2017 Festival will be held from 2 to 8 November in Vancouver, Canada. The events can be seen here, where tickets may also be purchased by anyone in Canada at this time. Reminder of Opportunities 1. 29th European Music Competition – Citta di Moncalieri This competition is dedicated to young musicians of all nationalities. Full details can be downloaded here. Please note, registration must be made before 20 October 2017. Registration forms are available here.
2. International Chamber Music Competition The next “Città di Pinerolo e Torino – Città Metropolitana” International Chamber Music Competition (for the Cities of Pinerolo, of Torino, and of its surrounding area), which is part of the World Federation of International Music Competitions in Geneva, will take place in Pinerolo and Turin from 5 to 11 March 2018. In 2016 the jury of renowned musicians awarded prizes amounting to 23,000 Euros to winners chosen from 100 musicians belonging to 42 chamber music ensembles (under 33 years of age) from all over the world.
